Nigerian music industry unique,booming – Temitope Ajani

A Traditional Fuji singer, Ambassador Temitope Ajani, has described Nigeria music industry as a very unique and prosperous one which has been developing from time to time and encouraging so many upcoming musicians to be in the industry.
The lree, Osun State born musician added, that it has been 22 years now since he started singing.
He spoke in an interview with Weekend Extravaganza from his base in Akure.
Temitope said he is culturally unique in a way and that is the reason the band members put on native attires whenever they’re performing on stage.
“Anytime we want to start the show I will first of all introduce all my band members, then go to the stage to sing ,I have so many types of drums I used that is culturally unique, like , lya’ilu, Omele, Sakara, Sekere, Cord, Drumset, , Keyboard, Dundun, Agogo oloju meta with back up ,and I always satisfy the people that invite me because I give them the best sweet vibes they want, and if it’s a show they do buy all the tickets, if it’s a stage, people dance very well all because of my vibes and songs.
Fuji music exerts a strong influence on the social life of the Yorubas. Through the music, foreigners can easily feel and connect with the culture of the Yoruba people.The influence that Fuji music exerts on the social life of the Yorubas is therefore very strong irrespective of their locations”.
On what first got him into music and who inspired him to make music, Ajani, who won the Season 4 Goldberg Fuji t’o Bam music talent activation at Trans Amusement Park in lbadan explained, that he has talent of music right from his childhood, because he loved it.
It was my friend who is an actor, Prince Omooba Dubai who gave me full encouragement and supported my music career and I have Alhaji Dr Shefiu and Adekunle Alao (aka) Baba oko as my role models.
He however said the Internet has really been the back up and strong source of his music business because he streams online.
Speaking on where he had performed so far, he responded:”l have performed at Côte d’Ivoire, Cotonou, Abuja, lmo State, Benin and all the South West States in Nigeria and I love playing at Concerts, doing Stage shows, Naming ceremonies, Weddings, Clubs and Private parties.
