A member of the House of Representatives in Ekiti state, Hon Olusola Fatoba, has said the main focus of  the 9th National Assembly, is work towards the betterment of the lives of all Nigerians, regardless of parties, ethnicity and religious learnings.

Fatoba, who represents Ado/Irepodun/Ifelodun federal constituency, assured that the new leadership of the House, led by the Speaker, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, will do all within its powers to support President Muhammadu Buhari to fulfil the dream of transforming the nation to a developed entity.

Speaking with journalists in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, Fatoba expressed optimism that the perceived frosty relationship between Hon. Yakubu Dogara-led House and the presidency won’t resurface under the new leadership.

He said the task of making the country’s economy strong to be able to banish poverty , hunger, unemployment and other social malaise in the country, requires a synergy between the executive and the legislature.

“This is not about partisanship, it is about fulfilling a dream a party has for its citizens. Don’t forget that President Buhari and APC came with  the utmost focus to transform Nigeria  and members of the APC in the House will key into that agenda.

“Some of the programmes and schemes initiated by the administration of President Buhari, like the N-Power , tradermoni , marketmoni, youth in commercial agriculture and others even benefited opposition more than APC members .

” Our National Chairman, Com. Adams Oshiomhole once said openly that he got reports and complaints from APC in some states that PDP members were enjoying more of these programmes than our own and this is what leadership is all about.

“So, PDP as an opposition in the House has no reason to oppose any of the agenda of the executive arm targeted to make Nigeria a great nation”.

Fatoba said the six members of the House and three senators elected on the platform of the party in Ekiti will coalesce resources and skills with Governor Kayode Fayemi to transform the state’s landscape.

The federal parliamentarian said his utmost aim is to network with his former  employer and agriculture firm and support the Governor to empower the youths through agriculture to boost food production in Ekiti.

Fatoba said he will support the Governor Fayemi’s initiative to facilitate and encourage large cultivation of rice, plantain, yam, maize, cassava and other food and cash crops such that the state will become a food basket of the Nation.
