Rising Stars Football Club of Akure has expressed readiness to outshine it’s opponent in the promotion playoff of the Nationwide League One scheduled for Saturday at the Aper Aku Stadium, Markurdi.
It would be recalled that the promotion/relegation playoffs of the NLO were scheduled for different centres across the country on Saturday and Sunday.
Coach Boye Ogunderu of Rising Stars in an interview said the entire team were happy to have qualified for the playoff.
Ogunderu said despite the long break,he had ensured that the players kept fit regularly with different friendly matches played at different venues in and outside the state.
He said the management of the team had ensured that the players’ welfare were prioritised for utmost result which was; promotion to Nigeria National League (NNL).
“Before the date for the play-off was announced, we have been preparing for the date because we have had our aim since the beginning of the season, which is to promote,” he said.
Also speaking, the Team Manager of Rising Stars, Seun Betiku, noted that the different friendly games engaged in by the team had helped put the team in great shape.
Betiku said it would be a great thing and a great achievement for the boys, the team and the management in general.
Rising Stars will engage Kwara United Feeders FC at the Aper Aku Stadium in Markurdi on Saturday by 2pm.
Rising Stars had finished on the log of group C1 with 14 points to qualify for the playoff.
