NLO: Rising Stars thrash Akure City 3-0

Rising Stars Football Club of Akure defeated its counterpart, Akure City in the week four match of the Nationwide League One (NLO) encounter 3-0.
The match played at the Ondo State Sports Complex during the weekend in Akure, had Rising Stars Striker,Wasiu Sanni scoring the first goal through a header from a free kick in the 27th minute.
After three minutes of the first goal, Rising Stars attacker Tunde Ilesanmi scored the second from a rebound from a shot by Abu Roberts.
In the 35th minute, Rising Star midfielder,Monday Omohera scored the third goal in the 35th minute to go into halftime 3-0.
However in the second half,the game refused to produce a goal as the game ended 3-0.
The Head Coach of Rising Stars, Akin Olowokere said his team’s victory was a well deserved one.
Olowokere blamed the team’s 2-0 defeat in the week three match against OSOPADEC FC in Okitipupa to poor condition of the pitch.
“The boys did very well, they played a very good team with quality players today, they were runners up in AITEO Cup and they represented the state,” he said.
Olowokere promised that this would be the beginning of good performance and result for the team.
Rising Stars will play Pace Setters FC at Ibadan Stadium in the week five encounter of NLO.
