No godfather in ASD -State Chairman

By Mary Agidi
The Chairman of Alliance of Social Democrats (ASD)  in Ondo state, Dr Mathew Ibitoye has said that the party is not governed or sponsored by any moneybag politician but solely rely on the goodwill of the people for a turn around in the political system and governance of Nigeria.

Ibitoye stated this during a stakeholders’ meeting of elders of the party and candidates for the upcoming 2019 general elections, held in Akure.

He charged the candidates not to relent in aggressive grassroots mobilisation of members, and preach the ideology of the party to them which according to him is to ameliorate poverty and generate employment for the unemployed.

In his response, the National Deputy Chairman of ASD, Mr Akin Akinbobola charged all members to jealously follow the party constitution which he noted is the cardinal reference for all members.

Akinbobola further appealed to all members to unite and work as a team, calling on those who were not picked for a position to be patient and be productive for future opportunity.

On his part, one of the contestants, Dame Victoria Osanyin tasked women in the party to redouble their efforts and use their wisdoms and mights in canvassing for according to him  votes during the forthcoming elections.
