Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has said the present administration does not have plans to abolish the recently created Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state.

Governor Aiyedatiwa disclosed this on Sunday during a meeting with the dissolved members of the 18 Local Government Areas and the 33 LCDAs at the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Governor’s Office, Alagbaka, Akure.

Also present at the meeting were the Deputy Governor, Dr Olayide Adelami and other political appointees.

Aiyedatiwa noted that he has no plan to erase the legacy of his late predecessor, reiterating that a transition list would be out to this effect after the court tussle.

The Governor said efforts were being intensified to resolve the court case instituted by the opposition party which halted the operations of the dissolved council leaders, promising that necessary corrections would be made to the imbalance in their nomination and composition.

“The court case indeed disrupted your emergence, but let me emphasize the importance of unity within our party. Together, we stand stronger. I want you all to be rest assured, efforts are underway to overturn the case in court,” the Governor stressed.

He highlighted the significance of solidarity amidst the party’s challenges, even as he urged members to demonstrate more commitment and patriotism to the party within their respective local government areas.

“It is important for us to come together as one big family for the progress of the APC and the development of our State,” he said.

Aiyedatiwa also emphasised that there is no division in the party’s leadership, saying he and the APC chairman are one, just as he emphasised  unity.
