The Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure, home ground of Sunshine Stars FC has been renovated and upgraded to get all-clear from the Interim Management Committee’s (IMC) ahead of the 2022/23 NPFL season.
As advised by the league body during their first inspection in September 2022, the dressing room of the stadium has been upgraded while the pitch, deemed to be in playable condition before now has further been revitalised with some maintenance work.
In addition, the floodlighting system of the facility was seen to be functioning when demanded to be put to test by the inspecting officer delegated by the IMC, DCP Tony Emiefile.
The inspecting officer was also conducted round other sections of the Ondo State Sports Complex, including the Conference/Press Room, State Box, the pitch and its entrance/exit points and others, during his two-day on the spot assessment of the facility.
Though DCP Emiefile maintained that the power to approve any ground for NPFL matches lies with the IMC, he was visibly impressed with the work carried out on the Ondo State Sports Complex at the end of the exercise.
