NPFL 25: Nasarawa United unveil eight new players for second stanza

Nasarawa United have announced the addition of eight high-profile players to their squad in preparation for the second stanza of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season. The unveiling took place at Lafia City Stadium during a press conference.

According to Media Director Eche Amos, the new signings bring experience and skill to the team and will debut in their first match of the second stanza against Katsina United on Saturday, 25th January 2025.

The new players include Benson Abbey (central defender, Shooting Stars), Peace Dewan (left-back, Sunshine Stars), Abubakar Aliyu (attacking midfielder, Shooting Stars), Solomon Chigozie (central midfielder, Kwara United), Peter Eneji (winger, Busaiteen FC), Ugochukwu Leonard (centre-forward, Heartland FC), Benjamin Jack (winger, Golden Boot FC), and Onyema Emmanuel (winger, Ikorodu City FC).

Club Chairman Solomon Babanjah described the signings as a “major statement of intent” to turn around the club’s precarious position on the league table. He thanked key stakeholders, including Governor Abdullahi Sule, and called for continued support and prayers.

Technical Director Kabir Dogo expressed confidence in the new additions, stating they would help the team compete at the highest level and bring success in the second half of the season.

Nasarawa United plans to unveil more players in the coming days and begin closed camping ahead of their upcoming fixtures.
