Sunshine Stars’ head Coach, Edith Agoye, has disclosed that his side’s 1-1 draw against Doma United in the match day 11 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) was due to fatigue on the side of his players.

The Akure Landlords played 1-1 against Doma United at the Ondo State Sports Complex,Akure.

Sunshine Stars Striker, Yusuf Ibrahim had put the home side ahead in the 13th minute before Doma United equalised two minutes after for both sides to end the first 45minutes 1-1 draw.

Agoye in his post-match news conference said the game was not easy considering the long journey from the game journey from Bauchi in a week 10 game against Wikki Tourist on Sunday.

”It was not an easy game for both sides, considering the fact we took a long journey to Bauchi, a very strenuous one we took another long journey one back, definitely, fatigue was a factor in the game.

“It was a good game, we had an advantage by scoring, but we allowed them to come back into the game straight away, that was the turning point, and we push and push,we had chances, we couldn’t convert.

“But we have to commend the effort of the boys, we didn’t take it today, we redouble our effort and look forward to the next game, ” he said.

He however refused to blame his defenders for the draw, saying,”the team lost together.”

The Head Coach of Doma United, Akinade Onigbinde said his game plan succeeded.

Onigbinde said Sunshine Stars had picked a point during bthe first stanza on their home ground and was happy to pick a point too on Sunshine Stars’ home ground, despite plans to win the game in Akure.

Sunshine Stars are 5th on the log with 17 points, while Doma United are sixth on the log with 16 points in the group B of the NPFL.
