NPFL match day 37: Nwosu brace sinks Remo Stars in Akure

Sunshine Stars prodigy, Chinedu Nwosu scored twice in the match day 37 of the Nigeria Premier League Football (NPFL) to lift the Akure based side out of relegation.
Nwosu had come off the bench on matchday 35 tie of the league to contributes to Sunshine Stars 2-0 victory against Akwa United.
The graduate of Akure Commercial Secondary sensation again came off the bench to net his first Sunshine Stars’ goal with his first touch of the ball in the 58 minutes.
It was goaless in the first half of the entertaining encounter,played at the Ondo State Sports complex, Akure the state capital.
Moment after Nwosu’s debut goal, Rema Stars were awarded a penalty and red card, the penalty was converted in the 70 minutes.
One of the Remo Stars’ players had earlier been sent off for a dissent in the first half.
Nwosu was on the score sheet again having dribbled past two Remo Stars players before slotting into left corner of the net in the 80th minutes.
In a chat with newsmen, Sunshine Stars Technical Adviser, Kennedy Boboye thanked God for the victory, saying it was a very tough game.
According to him, the most important thing for us is that we won the match and escape from relegation zone, the victory will take us to next level.
Remo Stars coach, Daniel Ogunmodede said: “The game was about two things, one is avoiding being drawn and the other aiming for the top.”
“The result of Enugu Rangers we got in the interval dampen the mora of our players in the second half.”
