Sunshine Stars Coach, Edith Agoye has insisted that his team is not yet where they were targeting, saying the Akure landlords remains a team in progress.

Ha added that Sunshine Stars is not yet stable, but with abundant potential for improvement.

Agoye stated this after his side defeated Niger Tornadoes 2-0 in the match day seven of the Nigeria Premier Football League played at the Ondo State Sports complex, Akure.

Udom Ekerette and Samson Olasupo had given Sunshine Stars the deserved three point in the 12th and 33rd minute after Ekerette noded home from a corner kick before Olasupo tapped into the net from a beautiful team move to make it two for Sunshine Stars.

Agoye said they will continue to work hard until Sunshine Stars become formidable to the admiration of the sports lovers in the state.

“We have margin for improvement and we are going to explore this margin positively.”

The former Shooting Stars gaffer said the presence of Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro was a good incentive for the League and sports lovers in Ondo State.

According to him, “My players have their eyes set on the important three points and they know they have to work hard to get the three points and that was exactly what they did.

Our next game will be against Dakkada in Uyo. We will go to Uyo to fight for the three points at stake. We will give everything we can on the field of play, and whatever happens at the end of the 90minutes we will be proud of what we have been able to do.”

Niger Tornadoes Coach, Bala Mohammad commended the match officials for their professional disposition in handling the game, saying the match was one of the best he has seen this season.

He said: “It was good game, despite the fact that we lost the game in the first half due to poor partnership in our defence.”
