NPFL MD 35: Waheed Adebayo salvages maximum points for Sunshine Stars against Katsina United

Two late goals from inform strike Waheed Adebayo was all that sunshine stars needed to secure a victory and three vital points against visiting Katsina United in one of the match day 35 of the Nigeria premier football league at the Dipo Dina stadium Ijebu-Ode Ogun State.

The Owena Whales made several efforts in the first half without getting the needed goal in the net even as Katsina United also put up a classic display with the two coaches on their toes dishing out instructions to thier players.

However striker Waheed Adebayo found the back of the net in the 86th minute before rounding it up with a a finisher in the extra time (93rd minutes) to seal victory for Sunshine Stars.

Speaking shortly after the game the technical adviser sunshine stars coach Abubakar Bala said the team expected a hard fight from Katsina United and deployed workable tactics to match them.

Coach Bala further said his team will approach all remaining games with discipline and determination like a final to move up the table.

On his part, goal scorer of the game Waheed Adebayo expressed excitement for the brace describing it as a motivation for him and his team to keep fighting till the end of the season.

Ghanaian born goalkeeper Emma Offori who made some spectacular saves during the game attributed the improved performance between the defenders and the goalkeeping department to the coaching crew’s renewed determination.

Sunshine Stars will next face Shooting stars of Ibadan in a South-west derby at the Adamasingba stadium.
