NPFL: Remo Stars 1-0 Sunshine Stars

Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure yesterday failed to build on the success recorded in the week 17 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) at the Ondo state sport complex in Akure as they slipped to a 1-0 loss against Remo Stars FC.

The week 18 game decided at the gate way Stadium ,Shagamu in Ogun State saw the sky blues taking  the  lead in the  72 minutes when their efforts at goal  off the frame of the post was adjudged to have cross the line , though , Sunshine Stars players protested , but the goal stands as the referee  pointed to the center  for a restart .

Efforts from  the Owena Whales’ duo of Omaka and Ekelojuoti in the 27 and 35 minutes were not enough for the visitors to change the score line in the first half .

The first 45 minutes  of the encounter had ended in a barren draw .

 Sunshine Stars came out more with zest for goal  in the as the second half , unfortunately they were well curtail by their hosts .

The score line remained 1-0 at the end of the 90 minutes . Sunshine Stars next will be at home against Niger Tornadoes on Sunday May 12 .
