The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has announced changes to the matchday 16 fixture between Sunshine Stars and Shooting Stars.

The much-anticipated Southwest derby, initially scheduled for Sunday, 8 December, will now take place 24 hours earlier, on Saturday, 7 December.

Additionally, the encounter will be held at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, instead of the Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu-Ode, the adopted home ground of the Akure-based side.

However, the kickoff time of 4:00 pm remains unchanged.

The development was revealed via a letter issued by the league’s organising body, dated Tuesday, 3 December 2024, and signed by Davidson Owumi, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the NPFL.
