Sunshine Stars FC held Kwara United FC to 1-1 draw in the day 1 opening match of the Nigeria Professional Football league NPFL played at the Kwara State Sports Complex .

Franklin Sassere opened the scoring sheet for thethe Owena Waves the lead in the 42nd minute of the encounter .

While Sunshine Stars goal keeper Ariyo David saved a spot kick from Kwara United Alebiosu in the 12th minute .

The second half saw Kwara United came out more stronger to cancel the deficit in the 68th minute through an own goal from Seun Olulayo.
