NPFL: Sunshine Stars stroll past Abia Warriors

Lone goal from Samson Olasupo was all Sunshine Stars needed to defeat Abia Warriors in the match day four of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) decided at Ondo State Sports complex Akure, yesterday.
Olasupo gave Akure Landlords the decisive winning in the 35th minute, having received from team move.
Chigozie Dennis had earlier denied by the visitor’s goal keeper ,Femi Thomas in the 30th minute.
Abia Warriors showed some flashes of coming back which were well curtailed by Sunshine Stars defenders .
Further goals eluded both sides in the remainder of the encounter as Sunshine Stars kept the maximum points in the kitty.
Sunshine Stars coach, Edith Agoye in a chat with newsmen thanked God for getting the maximum three points, saying it was not acceptable to play three matches without winning.
He said: “Though we didn’t lose, but we want better result for the team and thank God we got the important three points.”
“Sunshine Stars is team in progress we are not yet stabilized, every day we improve, game by game we improve, today we improve little bit more in scoring first and not conceding, which is very good for the team.”

Abia Warriors Coach, Erasmus Onu said the match was a good game, fantastic and well officiated.
Onu said he would go back to drawing board to assess and address areas where the team needed to adjust ahead of their next match.
