NPFL Super six: Sunshine Stars ’II do well – Sports Commissioner

Ondo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr Bamidele Ologunloluwa has expressed optimism that Sunshine Stars football club will do well at the Super six.

The commissioner stated this after Sunshine Stars defeated Dakkada FC on the last match day of the Abridged Nigeria Premier Football League decided at the Ondo State Sports complex,Akure.

Super six is a competition among the best three teams each that qualified from both group A and B of the Abridged league to determine the eventual winners of 2022/23 season and the teams that will represent Nigeria continentally.

 The six qualified teams are , Bendel Insurance ,Remo Stars ,Akwa United from group A, while Rivers United, Lobi Stars and Sunshine Stars made it from group A.

Ologunloluwa said the players are well motivated to the state proud at the Super six competition scheduled for Lagos in the next few weeks.

He added that Sunshine Stars players will receive double their winning bonus for victory over Dakkada FC which earned them a place in NPFL Super Six six.

While thanking the Governor of the State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his support for the team, he disclosed that the journey to the qualification has not been easy.

According to him, “we believe in ourselves from the onset, we trust the coaching crew that they have the tecto deliver as expected, but our atmost trust in God Almighty that made it happened for us”.
