NPFL2023/24: Lobi’s defeat,turnaround for Sunshine Stars – Boboye

Sunshine Stars Football Club Technical Adviser, Kennedy Boboye has said his side’s 2-0 victory over Lobi Stars in the Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL matchday 22 was the beginning of positive turnaround for the team.
He commended his players for getting the job done despite their long journey back to Ondo State with heavy defeat by Kano Pillars.
Boboye stated this after he won his first match for his new team, Sunshine Stars on his second coming by defeating the league table topper, Lobi Stars at the Ondo State Sports complex, Akure, the state capital.
Recalled, Boboye drew one match against Kwara United, lost one to Kano Pillars by 5-1 before his triumph over Lobi Stars of Markurdi in Akure matchday 22.
The former Akwa United gaffer disclosed that all the team needed now is to remain focus and concentrate to ensure they continue winning games to get out of their current position on the log.
He said the team will continue pushing , saying they will not take anything for granted to ensure we are out of the red zone.
According to him, “the game against Lobi Stars has been done and dusted , our next target is how we are going to get something meaningful against Heartland of Owerri next week Sunday”.
Vincent Temitope had given Sunshine Stars a 14th minute lead after he perfectly converting from a spot kick.
Lobi Stars’ John Lazarus had earlier been sent off when he handled Chidozie Iwundu goal bound strike inside box 18.
In the 29th minute , Vincent Temitope and Promise Awosanmi combined well at the edge before Promise flicked a pass to chidozie Iwundu who netted from a solo effort in the 30th minute .
The restart of the clash produced no further goal as Sunshine Stars kept the three maximum points in the kitty, which temporarily placed them on 15 position on the log with 26 points.
Meanwhile, results of Kwara United and Niger Tornadoes who are yet to play their match day 22 could alter the NPFL log.
