NPLF bans Lobi Stars spokesman over match-fixing rant

The media director of Lobi Stars, Emmanuel Ujah, has been sanctioned for breaching the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Framework and Rules following an unguarded statement.

Following an investigation into the matter, Ujah has been handed an indefinite ban from all NPFL-related activities.

Ujah, on his own volition, admitted to granting the interview in error and pledged to conduct himself better in the future.

He confessed to having no evidence to back his initial allegation of match-fixing, which he made during the same interview.

The Lobi Stars media director expressed regret over his statement, claiming he was driven by emotion to make the grievous allegation.

He is expected to issue a written apology and formally retract the match-fixing claims.

Meanwhile, some of the concerns raised by Ujah have been recommended for further investigation by the management of Lobi Stars in collaboration with the NPFL.
