NPUGA kicks off March 18 in Ondo

About 500 university students are to converge in Ondo State for the highly anticipated 2024 Nigeria Private University Games Association (NPUGA) in March.

Scheduled to kick off on March 18 and culminate on March 22, this prestigious sporting event will be held at Elizade University, Ilara Mokin, Ondo State, Nigeria.

The competition will feature games such as Table Tennis, chess, badminton, and basketball, among others.

Private universities like Afe Babalola University, Fountain University, Adeleke University, and Benson Idahosa University, among others, will be attending.

As excitement brews in anticipation, private universities such as Afe Babalola University, Fountain University, Adeleke University, and Benson Idahosa University are among the institutions gearing up to participate in the games.

According to the sports coordinator of Elizade University, Bewaji Olaniyi, adequate preparation and safety measures have been put in place by the university to ensure the smooth stay of students from various universities

 Olaniyi further explained that the NPUGA Championship’s goal is to improve the extramural activities of the students of Elizade University and to extend friendships and build good relationships among students of private universities across Nigeria.

‘I believe that the university is coming up with various preparations, particularly as regards accommodation, we are 100 per cent ready, 100 per cent ready with the venues for the various events.

“We are close to 100 per cent with the training of our athletes, 85 per cent ready with mini market, and across board, we are 90 per cent ready for this programme,” he concluded.
