NSCDC nabs serial burglar in Akure

A middle age man identified as Isaiah, described as serial thief who allegely specialized in burglary and stealing has been apprehended by some operatives of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The suspect who claimed to be an indigene of Ondo town was nabbed yesterday after he allegedly broke into some mechanic workshop at Orerere community off Agipowo area in Akure.
According to neighbour the suspect and some of his accomplices in crime have been responsible for several house and shop breaking in the area in the recent times.
One of the victims of the incident who identified himself as Mr Ameyi, a mechanic, told The Hope Metro that the suspect allegedly robbed his workshop sometimes in May,2019 and made away with 15 car batteries, Engine wipers, alternators and some motor kicks .
He explained that the supect has been a Serial thief who has been unleashing terror on innocent people of the area, adding that his workshop had been attacked several times with some materials stolen.
Also speaking, Mrs Olowo Olabisi who operates a food restaurant in the area told The Hope Metro that the suspect allegedly broke into her shop and stole items such as 6 yards of Akara, 15 cow legs, dry fish, semovita, garri, palm oil and money valuable items.
She stated that the suspect and some of his colleagues in crime had broken into her shop over three times through which they allegedly broke his window and gained entrance into her shop.
A Senior NSCDC who does not want his name in print said the suspect would be handed over to the police for further investigation, adding that some affected victims have pointed finger at the suspect, adding his confession will help to track down other of his accomplices.
He said the suspect confessed to have drove his wife away and he was living with his about 4-year old daughter before nemesis caught up with him.
