NSCDC nabs suspected kidnappers, informant

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command said it has arrested four suspected kidnappers and one informant in the state.
Mr Oluyemi Ibiloye, NSCDC State Commandant made this known while parading the suspects on Wednesday in Akure.
Ibiloye said that one of suspects was arrested alongside his informant at Eti-Ose in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
He said the other three suspects were arrested at the Ipele Forest Reserve in Owo Local Government Area of the state.
According to him, the command was able to arrest the suspects while acting on credible intelligence with the combined team of intelligent officers and men of the operation units of the command.
The NSCDC commandant explained that one of the suspected kidnappers was arrested after a gun duel with the command’s personnel, saying that the informant arrested was also into the trade of planting marijuana at Eti-Ose.
“It has established now that three people the suspects collected ransom from in the past have come forward to identify them and those in process of collecting ransom were also identified.
“And some of items recovered from the suspects including four locally made guns, charms, other dangerous weapons among others.
“Meanwhile, the suspect involving in kidnapping and planting of marijuana will be handed over to NDLEA for prosecution,” he said.
Ibiloye, who vowed to rid the State of crimes and criminalities, warned anyone with the mind of engaging in crime should either leave the state or change their trade,” he said
