NSF: Bronze not my target —Azeez

Adijat Azeez has added another medal to Ondo State medals at the ongoing National Sports Festival (NFS) tagged Edo 2020.
Azeez defeated her counterpart from Imo state in the 78kg female category to clinch the bronze medal, making her the third Judoka to register the Sunshine state on the medals’ table.
In a chat with Sporting Hope, Azeez said she was not satisfied with the bronze medal, saying her target coming to the national fiesta was to win gold.
She said: “I won gold in Abuja 2018 Festival in 70 kg category, now I’m winning bronze, I’m not okay with , though there is room for improvement and the future is bright,” she said.
The state Judo coach, Toyin Ojo commended her athletes for their efforts, adding that despite the politics of the game they still had something to take home.
Ojo said, “In sports you win some and lose some, I’m using this medium to reach out to our colleagues in other sports to put in their best to improve on what we have on ground.
Ondo has so far won three bronze medals from Judo, while are still hope to get more medals in other games.
Meanwhile the duo of Adegbola Adedeji and Ojo Ibrahim has qualified for the next round in boxing heavy weight and 49kg respectively.
In Abula, Team Ondo has also defeated their counterpart from Bayelsa 2-0 in the male single of the opening match, the Abula game will only feature three states. The team Ondo has also set their eye on tangible medal in the competition.
