NSF: Ondo Coaches, athletes promise to haul medals

Ondo state coaches and athletes going to the National Sports Festival, holding in Edo state, have promised to perform excellently and make the state proud.
The Hope visited the camp of the Ondo state contingent to assess their level of preparation for the tournament.
Speaking with Sporting Hope, the state Taekwondo coach, Mrs Ada Anthony said the Taekwondo team had perfected their training for the tournament, promising the people of Ondo state, “nothing less than gold medals from the team.”
She added that, “trainings are being done for the team to win medals like gold, silver and bronze medals and they were ready to make the state proud.
“By the grace of God, we are in call now trying to work on their techniques and kicking stamina that will help the players to last during the fighting situation.”
Similarly, the head coach of the Ondo state table tennis team, Mr Adedotun Omoniyi said the team had been training extensively to enhance their performance and boost the players morale and mentality.
Mr Adedotun added that his team had not at anytime stopped practising despite the series of postponement by the federal government because table tennis is a game of continuity; “You leave it for five days, it will leave you for ten days”.
He averred that the team would do its best as it used to do, stating that most of the players representing Ondo state are in the world ranking, “Ondo has been number 1 in Nigeria table tennis,” he boasted.
The athletics team coach, Mr Babatunde Ayodele said his team had trained tirelessly for the competition and ready to surpass previous performance in the competition.
In the Same vein, the volleyball head coach, Adekalu Adeniyi whose team is going to the sport festival as the defending champion, said his team would not leave any stone unturned for the tournament, promising to defend the title.
The assistant boxing coach of Team Ondo, Bola Bolorunduro and a new boxing prospect, Adigun Sheriff Olamilekan both promised to make Ondo state proud and win medals.
“We have been doing that; this is not the first time. The last festival in Abuja 2018, we won 2 gold medals, 3 silver and 2bronze medals and this time, we know that we are going to make Ondo State proud again”, he promised.
Some of the athletes also expressed readiness to deliver as expected.
The Table tennis team captain, Fagbamila Akinwale, a 400 metre runner, Rukayat Oladapo and a boxer, Adigun Olamilekan and a volleyball player, Aminbo Oluwaseun assured that the they would haul medals from the tournament and make the Sunshine state proud.
