 By Femi Atolagbe

Ondo State Table Tennis Gold medalist at the just concluded National Sports Festival, Amadi Omeh has said he will work hard to represent Nigeria at the Olympic in future.
Amadi who won Gold medal in Men singles and Bronze in mixed doubles at the games stated this in a chat with Sporting Hope in Akure, the state capital.
He attributed his feat at the “Edo 2020” games to God Almighty and inspiration he got from his coach.
He said “I came from 8-2 to defeat my opponent in the final, initially I was jittery at the beginning of the game when he was leading me, along the line I was able to get myself back into the game and knocked him out and grab the available gold for my State.
The National Sports Festival debutant said he was never intimidated by his opponents all through saying his coach inspired him to beat anybody without looking back.
He said, “with the help of my coach I was able to defeat Solanke Azeez ,whom I have never beat before, he had defeated me twice in other competition in the absence of my coach, I retaliated at the festival by defeating him twice in the presence of my coach who stood behind me ,his presence gave me a lot of confidence.
“I defeated him 3-0 in team event and also pipped him 3-2 in Men singles semifinal.”
He added “that I idol Quadri Aruna, I want to be like him and probably play better than him.”
