NUC approves 12 new courses for UNIMED

he University of Medical Sciences, (UNIMED), Ondo.
These new courses are Community Health Science; Computer Science; Environmental Health Science; Environmental Management & Toxicology; Food Science; Human Nutrition and Dietetics.
Others are Information Technology; Prosthetics & Orthotics; Physics; Science Laboratory Technology; Radiography & Radiation Science, and Statistics.
The approval came after the successful resource verification visit of the Commission to the University in December, 2020.
The Vice-Chancellor, University of Medical Sciences, (UNIMED), Ondo, Prof. Adesegun Fatusi who was elated about the development broke the news on the University e-mail portal.
“The NUC has approved 12 new courses for which we had resource verification in December 2020”, he wrote.
“This feat would not have been possible without the support of our Council, under the leadership of Dr. Temitayo Fawehinmi. The Council, with great foresight and a strong sense of support, allowed us a loan of N100 million to buy equipment and ensure the availability of the needed facilities,” he stated.
“And to all our wonderful staff, the pride of this accomplishment is truly yours. Your investments in hard work and great dream made this possible! This success is, indeed, a worthy return for all your sweat, hard work, and commitment to this great institution and a sincere belief in our leadership,” the VC added.
Responding on the e-mail, the Dean of Post Graduate Studies and the Chairman, Committee of Deans, Prof. Roseangela Nwuba congratulated the VC and the University Governing Council on the notable feat.
The Acting Dean, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Dr. Abdulazeez Abubakar felicitated the University community and prayed for more development in the institution.
The Director of ICT, Dr. Ebenezer Olajuyigbe expressed his happiness about the development describing the Vice-Chancellor as a leader with foresight.
