To add more glamour to her Press Week celebration, Ondo State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) defeated the State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in a novelty football match.

The friendly match, which ended 1-0 in favour of the NUJ, was part of the activities lined up for the NUJ Press Week 2022 celebration.

The winning goal of the match was scored by Saheed Ibrahim of Owena Press Chapel after a pass from Joseph Adesuyan of AIT.

Speaking, the State NUJ Chairman, Prince Leke Adegbite appreciated the Labour Congress led by the leader, Comrade Sunday Adeleye for giving the NUJ the platform to progress and have fun together.

He said the purpose of the novelty match was achieved as it gave the members the platform to fraternise and have sense of belonging.

On the triumph, he said the NUJ members were happy to win the match.

In his reaction, the NLC State Chairman, Sunday Adeleye said the NUJ stood out among affiliates of the NLC and it was a good time to have fun with the members.

He expressed delight at the game as it gave the members avenue to stretch their legs and have fun outside their regular daily activities.
