NULGE crisis :LGSC warns workers

Local Government workers in Ondo State have been warned not to do anything that will make them run foul of the rules and regulations of the service that can lead to their untimely disengagement

The chairman of the commission, Mr femi Idris gave the warning at the peace-making meeting held with two warring factions of the Ondo state chapter of the Nigeria union of local government Employees NULGE led by Comrade Bola Taiwo and Comrade Marcus Akinduko.

According to statement signed by the head of Information unit of the commission, Prince Akeem Momoh, Idris advised the officers to regard themselves as local government service workers first before other considerations

He submitted that the present administration would not tolerate any act of hooliganism from any quarters.

He reminded them that all Local Government staff are subject to service rules and that the authorities will not condone insubordination or other forms of impunity from all staff no matter how highly placed

The commission boss charged local government staff to comply with rules and regulations of the service or face the consequences.

“To be forewarned is to be forearmed. The commission is ready to deal ruthlessly with any one engaging in lawlessness. You must eschew violence, mudslinging and any forms of trouble in whatever guise “
