NWFL Matchday 10: Sunshine Queens ready for revenge against FC Robo — Ajibade

As hostility resumes in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), Sunshine Queens FC captain, Suliyat Ajibade has said her teammates are fully ready to revenge their league’s first leg loss against FC Robo of Lagos.

She added that “we are psychologically, mentally and physically ready for the all important game, saying all the players have agreed to play for their coaches, themselves and for the people of the State.

Sunshine Queens will today host FC Robo in the match day 10 of the women elite league at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure.

Recalled, that NWFL had in a statement, issued by the Chief Operating officer of the league, Mrs Modupe Shabi on February 23, announced the postponement of the league till March 20 this year.

Suliat Ajibade in a chat with Sporting Hope, added that the break given to them was a great opportunity to be more prepared for the match day 10 encounter with their Lagos counterparts.

She said: “We are ready to revenge the result of the first leg we played at Onikan Stadium, Lagos, we played very well against them.

“We showed what we are made of, but the result went the other way, due to some factors i wouldn’t like to discuss here, I can assure you that we are going to score goals and win them convincingly today.

“Our camp is bubbling, because we have unity of purpose to win the match against FC Robo.

“We are very happy, you can see the smiling faces of the players, above all we are ready to keep the maximum points in the kitty.”

“As a Muslim observing Ramadan fasting, I have prayed to God and ready to sacrifice today’s match for the team by not fasting, yes I will skip today’s fasting for the team,” she said.

She pleaded with fans to keep believing in the team, by coming out in their numbers to support them, saying they will put smile on their faces by giving their best so as to come out victorious.

“We know how important this game is to us, to the management of the team and the entire sports loving people of the State,” she stated.
