Basking in the euphoria of their home victory over Delta Queens, Sunshine Queens Football Club of Akure have stormed Yenagoa for the all important Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) matchday nine against Bayelsa Queens.

The Akure Landladies who will be without injured midfield maestro, Chinaza Soroibe and tricky striker Nwamaka Augusta in the clash scheduled for Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa on Wednesday are optimistic of good outing against their host.

Aside the two changes made to the squad that defeated the 2022/23 NWFL champions in Akure, all other players are in good shape and ready to get the job done.

In a chat with newsmen, the head coach of the team, Oladimeji Abimbola said the absence of the two players will not affect his game plan, saying he has more than enough quality players to replace them.

Abimbola added that he is in Bayelsa state for serious business, adding that he won’t be distracted by the missing players.

He noted that if Bayelsa could pick a point against his side in Akure, nothing will stop him from not paying them back in their own coins when the cracker commences.

According to him, “the players knew what is at stake, therefore, they are determined more than ever before to write their names in gold by playing with all their hearts.”

“I believe so much in my players, and with God on our side, we shall sing a victory song at the end of the game.”
