Sunshine Queens Fc of Akure during the week picked maximum points away from home in an Elite league tie played at the Kaduna township stadium against debutant,  Kaduna Queens.

Patricia Innocent scored first for the Ondo state sponsored side in the 44th minute to give Sunshine Queens the deserved lead which only  lasted few minutes as Kaduna Queens equalised via a spot kick to end the first half 1-1

On resumption into the second half, Sunshine Queens intensified efforts in search of a winner which never came until the 79th minute when Akudo Ogbonna superbly slotted home to send Sunshine Queens technical bench into a wild jubilation.

With few minutes left,  the home team mounted pressure on the visitors but were denied an equaliser as Sunshine Queens defence line exhibited experience and calm in denying Kaduna Queens attackers.

With the result,  Sunshine Queens now top group C temporarily  with four Points from two matches, having played a goalless draw at home in their first league game against Nasarawa Amazons.

Kaduna Queens are at the bottom of the group having failed to pick a point from two matches played so far,  losing 3-0 to Bayelsa Queens and  2-1 against  Sunshine Queens FC.

Kaduna Queens Head Coach Usman Shuaib in his post match interview commended his players for putting up a good fight against a more experienced Sunshine Queens FC

“Its sad we lost at home, but we are taking the positives from the game and we’ll start preparing in earnest against our next opponent”
