NYG: Ondo contingent departs for Ilorin tomorrow

All things being equal, Ondo State contingent will tomorrow, depart for Ilorin, Kwara State to participate in the National Youth Games.
The National Youth Games commence on 7th and end on 17th of September 2019.
Ondo State contingent is competing in about 20 sporting events which include; Football, Handball, Table Tennis and many others.
Fielding questions from the Sporting Hope at the athletes camp at the State Sports Complex in Akure, the state capital, General Manager of the state Sports Council, Mr Wande Fabuluje said the state contingent are in competition mood .
Fabuluje revealed that team Ondo are ready to roar, as their morale are high for glory at the under 15 annual National fiesta.
He revealed further that the athletes have been in camp since on Monday with serious training to ensure they do the state proud at the fiesta.
His words: “you can see all of them in their different training camp doing what they know best in order to haul medals for the state.”
“With the preparation being ground I can assure the people of the state that we are going to be the number one on the medal table,” he said.
The sport administrator, added “that the Ibadan elimination where some of our athletes were screened out was a blessing undisguised as its enable the state to put its house in order”.
He said, “that was the reason we internally screened our athletes going to Ilorin to ensure they are eligible for u-15 to avoid Ibadan experience.
He therefore thanked the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and other stakeholders for their support at ensuring funds are release for the state contingent on time.
