NYSC: Hope renewed for part-time students

The Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa has promised to resolve the prolonged exemption of Part-time National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) students from the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC).
Alausa made the promise while addressing students of Yaba College of Technology .
In a post he shared on his X handle, he assured that A is working with several agencies to resolve the issue.
“l will be meeting with the Director-General of the NYSC in March to discuss this matter further”
“You should not be exempted from participating in NYSC,” he added
Recall that NYSC had introduced a new policy demanding IT certification for HND graduates seeking to fulfil their national service obligations and has halted the screening process for some HND graduates.
The policy mandates all graduates of polytechnics and mono-technic who had been mobilised for Batch B Stream II to provide evidence of the mandatory one-year Industrial Training (IT) as a requirement for participating in the camp.
Last year, affected graduates gathered at the NYSC secretariat to protest against exclusion from the one year mandatory service and the inclusion in the mobilization process.
