The Osemawe of Ondo kingdom, Oba (Dr) Victor Adesimbo Kiladejo has been honoured as a distinguished alumni of Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile Ife in commemoration of the institution’s 60th anniversary.
OAU 1977 set in company of the vice-chancellor, the deputy vice-chancellor and principal officers of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife made the presentation in a courtesy visit to Oba Kiladejo in his palace in Ondo.
The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede thanked the Osemawe for his tireless efforts and commitment to ensuring that UNIMEDTH is structurally developed.
He said he was proud of the monarch as an alumnus of the great institution.
Also, another alumnus and a cardiologist in New York who donated 60 beds to UNIMEDTH ready to be occupied by students, Dr Oluyemi Badero expressed gladness to see the monarch and therefore charged children and youths never to give up in life.
The Vice-Chancellor of UNIMED, Prof. Adesegun Fatusi who joined the Osemawe to host his seniors in OAU, appreciated their contributions to the University.
He, therefore, charged students across the nation to look into the future with bright hope.
While responding, Oba Kiladejo thanked them for the honour and pledged his support at all times.
Present at the occasion were Olori Olayinka Kiladejo, the Osemawe in council, the former Vice-Chancellor of Akungba Akoko University AAUA, Prof. Femi Mimiko among others.
