The Governing Council of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, has approved the appointment of Prof. David Olaniran-Aworinde as substantive Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the institution.

The Council also approved the appointment of Mr. Idowu Omowole as Acting Registrar of the institution.

The appointments were in a statement signed by Mr. Paul Adeagbo, the institution’s Deputy Director of Information, Protocol and Public Relations.

Adeagbo said the appointment of Aworinde and Omowole takes effect from March 27 and April 3, respectively.

According to the statement, Prof. Aworinde, 55, is a professor of plant anatomy/taxonomy and is a member of the Botanical Society of Nigeria (BOSON) and the Nigerian Tropical Biology Association (NTBA).

The former lecturer at the Ekiti State University Ado-Ekiti and the Federal University of Technology (FUNAAB), Abeokuta, joined the services of the University in June 2011 as Lecturer I and was appointed a Professor in October 2019.

The statement said Omowole was appointed Acting Registrar of the institution following the resignation of the former Registrar, Mr. Ganiyu Oke Saliu, who was appointed the Registrar of the University of Ibadan, Ibadan.

According to the statement, Omowole, 50, has served the institution meritoriously in different positions and capacities and performed well.
