The Vice-Chancellor of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, Prof. Temi Ologunorisa, has declared that the university has zero tolerance for cultism, examination malpractice and other shady dealings by students.
Ologunorisa, who was addressing new students of the university at the opening ceremony of a two-day Orientation Programme in the school, cautioned them against shady and dirty dealings, such as stealing, drug abuse, hooliganism, harassment and indecent dressing.
Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. David Aworinde, the VC advised the students to face their studies squarely, giving no room for distraction or failure.
He counselled them to make the best use of the opportunity by facing their studies squarely, stressing that their primary assignment in the University is their studies, while every other thing is secondary.
Also, the Acting Dean of the Division of Student Affairs, Dr Daniel Adekeye, stressed that the Division exists to ensure the welfare of students at all times, urging them to discuss any challenges they encounter for timely and necessary intervention.
“This programme is to formally integrate you into the system and culture of our university. So, imbibe the university’s culture, be orderly and relate well with fellow students and other members of the university and the host community,” Adekeye advised.
