OAUSTECH inaugurates Advancement Board to fastrack development

As part of the move to fastrack more developments in the Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH) Okitipupa, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Temi Emmanuel Ologunorisa, at the  weekend performed the inauguration of the University’s Advancement Board.

The 13-man board is headed by the former Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology in Ondo State, Mr Laolu Akindolire, with Prof. Olukoya Ogen, and Dr Foluso Falaye, as well as Mr Oluyemi Ogunyemi, a former Clerk, National Assembly as members.

Others are Prof Temi Ologunorisa, Messer Dara Akala, Akinwumi Falodun, Peter Okunuga, Felix Ipentan, Idowu Falemara, High Chief Simeon Olomidegun, Dr Seinde Fadeni and Akinleye Makinde who represents members of the Alumni Association of the institution.

Performing the inauguration at the University’s Council Chamber, Professor Ologunorisa, urged the Board to focus on substantial infrastructural enhancement and development, aggressive fund mobilization, the procurement of state-of-the-art teaching facilities and research equipment, as well as the cultivation of benevolent philanthropists and donors for the holistic advancement of the University.

The Vice Chancellor, represented by the Director of Academic Planning, Professor Foluso Adetuyi, reflected on the University’s inception with a modest cohort of 98 students in the 2010/2011 academic session, which has burgeoned to a current enrollment of 8,500 students under his stewardship, projecting an increase to 12,000 by the 2025/2026 academic session.

The  don disclosed that the board would meet, discuss and offer innovative and practical paths for the development of institution, so that it could continue to offer quality training and research opportunities to new generations of youth for ultimate development of Ondo State.
