Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, has partnered with the African Regional Institute for Geospatial Information Science and Technology (AFRIGIST), Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria.

This is aimed at delivering world-class education in coastal geospatial information science (GIS) to candidates from West and Central Africa.

The two institutions signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in December 2022.

The MoU is to jointly run the Master of Science (MSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs in Geospatial Information Science (GIS) and Coastal Environmental Management (CEM) with effect from 2023/2024 academic session.

According to the MoU, the two institutions will cooperate in the areas of teaching and research to be jointly agreed upon. They are equally to conduct joint research and educational activities at graduate and post-graduate levels in addition to developing, organizing, and delivering of non-degree programs.

The cooperation will also cover the exchange of academic and research staff, the exchange of research and scientific information, and the exchange of invitations of staff to participate in lectures, conferences, and symposia between the two institutions.
