OAUSTECH unveils new programmes, projects

The Vice-Chancellor of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Prof. Temiloluwa Emmanuel Ologunorisa, has unveiled new academic programmes, infrastructure projects which will  enhance the institution’s growth.

Speaking at the university’s monthly prayer meeting, he announced the introduction of new courses in the 2025/2026 academic session, including Pharmacy, Nautical Science, Marine Economics and Finance, Ports and Shipping Management, and Maritime Transport and Logistics.

He said: “These programmes aim to equip students with essential skills for the job market.

On staff welfare, the VC assured that salaries are paid promptly, promotion arrears will soon be cleared, and the new minimum wage will be implemented once the university receives increased government funding.”

 Ologunorisa also revealed that OAUSTECH now issues electronic transcripts (E-transcripts) to graduates, making academic verification easier and faster.

He further announced that the university’s 3rd convocation will be held on March 4, featuring the graduation of the first set of Postgraduate students from the PGDE in STEM Education and MSc programmes.

Regarding infrastructure, he stated that ongoing projects include the construction of the Schools of ICT, Nursing and Allied Health Sciences, and Earth Science, all aimed at improving learning and research facilities.

Expressing gratitude, the VC appreciated staff for their dedication and support, especially following the recent passing of his father.

In a related event, Dr. Simon Adesina, former Head of the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture Technology, spoke on “The Depth of God’s Love” during the prayer meeting, emphasizing faith and spiritual growth.

With these initiatives, OAUSTECH continues to strengthen its position as a leading science and technology institution in Nigeria, fostering academic excellence, innovation, and community service.
