Oba Ogunoye, blessing to Owo Kingdom – Oliyere
The Oliyere of Iyere in Owo local government area of Ondo State, Oba Omotunde Alaba Ebiyanmi has described the choice of Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye as the Olowo of Owo as a blessing to the kingdom.
Oba Ebiyanmi made the remarks in Iyere yesterday while playing host to the Olowo on a two-day unity tour to the kingdom.
He said the choice of Oba Ogunoye at this period has ignited hope and assurance that all towns in the kingdom are one in unity and purpose.
Oba Ebiyanmi said steps already taken by the Olowo are clear signals that the monarch plans to work with all stakeholders to unify the kingdom for development and progress.
He assured the Olowo that he would mobilise his people to key into the vision and progressive agenda of the monarch which he observed were altruistic, noble and patriotic.
The Olowo whose unity tour had also taken him to Uso, Amurin, Isuada, Ipele, Upenmen and Idashen explained that his mission is to build a bridge of unity within the kingdom and obliterate the mutual suspicion and distrust of the past among communities in the area.
Oba Ogunoye declared “I come with open hands and mind to work with Obas, leaders, men and women to lift the kingdom to greater heights where everybody’s interest, particularly the jobless youths would be catered for.
The Hope correspondent observed that the Olowo and his entourage received euphoric welcome in all the communities visited by gaily dressed chiefs and communal leaders.
