Members of Carpenters and Furniture Union CFU, in Ondo State have elected new executives that will coordinate the activities of the union for the next four years.
The executives emerged after a well coordinated state election, organised by the union, held at the weekend at Oyemekun Grammar School Hall, Akure with Comrades Adekunle Obolo re-elected unopposed as the chairman of the union.

Special Adviser to the State Governor on Union Matters and Special Duties , Dare Aragbaiye said the government has recognized the CFU and urged its members to do likewise.
Aragbaye represented by Comrade Oluwadaisi Komolafe, the President of the State United Artisan advised the new executives to continue the good work they have started, in order to make the union great and not to breach their members trust in them.

Other newly elected executives include Kareem Ogunmola ( Vice-Chairman Northern Senatorial District), Ayodele Omoniyi (Vice-Chairman South Senatorial District), Kehinde Ogundele ( Vice-Chairman Central Senatorial District), Olusegun Michael (Secretary), Oluwasanya Ibitoye (Treasurer), Ajobere Fredrick(Assistant Secretary), Amondi Temitope (Financial Secretary)
Others are; Paul Akinwalemiwa (Publicity Secretary) Olayemi Olajide ( Internal Auditor), Stephen Ajayi ( Public Relations Officer 1),Akinkanye Jaiye (Public Relations Officer 2), Dele Ojo (State Police), Jegede Emmanuel (Assistant State Police, Dare Ekundayo ( Central Senatorial Police) Sunday Simon (Southern Senatorial Police) Fasoto Clement (Ex Officio Central), all elected unopposed.

Electoral Chairman, Comrade Awobusuyi Albert said the outgoing executives, elected four years ago, would be the first in the history of the union to successfully complete their tenure.
Albert attributed the success of the outgoing executives to hardwork and the sacrifice they paid for the unity of the union.
Chairman, Board of Trustees of the union, Comrade Isiaka Kilani expressed his happiness for the success of the election, which would be the first successful transition election in the history of the union.

He thanked the outgoing chairman for doing everything in his disposal to make sure that their tenure ended well, which showed he had done the right thing and serve the union with sincerity.
In his acceptance speech , the newly elected Chairman, Obolo expressed gratitude to all members of the union in the state for the opportunity given him once more to serve them.

He added that the union has put away the issue of ethnicity, which was previously a major concern.
He thanked the State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his support for the union and also prayed for a quick recovery as the whole state is waiting for his arrival.
