ODHA begins sitting on MDAs

Ondo State House of Assembly has commenced public sitting on year 2019 to 2020 audited reports of the State Auditor General on Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) account.

The sitting was chaired by Mr Festus Adefiranye to ensure that backlogs accounts of MDAs are cleared.

Declaring the session open on behalf of the Speaker, Bamidele Oleyelogun the Deputy Speaker, Samuel Aderoboye said that the essence of the sitting is to correct anomalies and restore sanity to the system.

He therefore charged the MDAs to ensure efficiency and accountability in discharging their duties for the betterment of the State.

 He also commended the Auditor general and his team for prompt submission of the reports.

The Chairman of the Committee, Adefiranye  informed that it was the responsibility of the Committee to consider the output of the Auditor general and ensure checks and balances.

While stressing the importance of prompt retirement of every public funds collected by Civil Servants, he charged Accounting officers to be on top of their jobs and ensure a proper record keeping system in their various establishments.

He promised that the committee will try its best to clear all backlogs in line with the global best practices that the 10th assembly would clean record.

Speaking, the State Auditor-General, Sunday Adegoke affirmed that his office before issuing the reports has done thorough job for easy assessment of the committee.

He appreciated the house for their support so far, noting that his office will continue to work with them to achieve the set goal.
