ODHA charges LGs, others to synergise on devt

Ondo House of Assembly has charged Local Governments in the state to work in synergy for the state’s development .
The ad-hoc Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs gave the charge during its oversight function to ldanre, Ondo West and East Local Government areas, adding that only in an atmosphere of peace and cooperation can development take place.
The Majority Leader of the House, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi who led other members to the local government councils, informed that the visit was to appraise the Funds released last year by the state government to all local councils for capital projects to ensure accountability and prudency.
He charged the Local Authorities to ensure judicious use of funds allocated for various projects and implemented it according to specifications.
The Majority Leader who expressed satisfaction with the level of work done in councils visited, encouraged them to do more for the people at the grassroots.
Other members told the leadership of the councils and other stakeholders to lead by example as the visit was not to witch hunt but to ensure that Local Government administration was run according to laid down rules.
The lawmakers stressed the importance of vibrant and peaceful local government administration to the development of the grassroots.
The Chairmen of ldanre, Local Council Prince Kayode Aroloye, Ondo West, Ebenezer Akinsulire and their counterpart in Ondo East, Wale Akinkuotu thanked the Legislators for performing their statutory duty effectively.
The Committee members were conducted round various projects embarked upon by the Councils, which included, administrative block, boreholes, market, motor park, toilet among others.
