The Ondo State House of Assembly has committed to the House Commitee on Finance and Appreciation, the 2018 Appropriation Amendment Bill for proper scrutiny and quick passage.

The Executive Bill which seeks to reorder funds from non performing agencies to where the money will be mostly needed for the development of the state was committed to the committee on the floor of the House on Monday after scaling through first and second readings.

This is coming as the hallowed chambers called on the security agencies to begin the immediate probe of the 15 suspended members of the Assembly led by Mr Olamide George, over forgery allegations and impersonation.

Acting Majority Leader, Mr Jamiu Maito, while moving a motion for consideration of the amendment bill called on his colleagues to support it since it was aimed at impacting positively on the people of the state and make  life more meaningful to the masses.

Supporting the motion, Mr Sunday Olajide described the bill as very important which should be given passed as quickly as possible for the activities of government to continue.

He noted that the 2018 Appropriation Amendment Bill will not in anyway alter the original figures in the budget earlier passed by the House.

The leader of the House, Mr Bamidele Oleyelogun said there was nothing wrong in the budget re-ordering inasmuch as it did not change the original amount of money already passed by the Assembly.

The bill was thereafter committed to the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation for proper scrutiny and passage.

On the purported impeachment of speaker and the deputy speaker, the House resolved and called on the security agencies to go after Olamide George led group  and bring them to justice over what it called forgery and impersonation.

At the plenary sitting presided over by the leader of the House, Mr Bamidele Oleyelogun and attended by other nine members, it was  unanimously resolved that some lawmakers who purportedly impeached the speaker and the deputy speaker last week Friday forged names and signatures of two other members, describing the development as a criminal offence which the police, the DSS and relevant agencies must probe.

Oleyelogun said it was clear that the lawmakers who purportedly impeached the leaders of the Assembly did not form the two-third majority as required by law.

He said it was established and clear that the group led by Mr George actually forged the names and signatures of two members of the House, namely Mr Sunday Olajide and Mr Feyide Olusola.

Earlier on the floor of the hallowed chambers, the two legislators confirmed that their names and signatures were actually forged, describing the development as criminal.

According to the duo, they were never and will never be part of the purported impeachment.

The House also reaffirmed its earlier stance suspending the 15 lawmakers.
