ODHA confirms Omowumi Isaac Commissioner-designate

Ondo State House of Assembly has confirmed Mrs. Omowumi Isaac, as Commissioner  designate in the State.

She was confirmed on Tuesday at a plenary presided over by the Speaker, Chief Olamide Oladiji.

This was sequel to the submission and consideration of a report by the House Selection Committee chaired by the Speaker.

The House had earlier in the morning conducted screening exercise for the nominee.

It would be recalled that five nominees out of the six sent to the House by the Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, were ratified last week Tuesday, while it was announced during the plenary that Omowumi Isaac was unavoidably absent.

The Clerk of the House, Jaiyeola Benjamin read the letter sent to the House by the State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa for the consideration of the nominee as Commissioner.

While submitting the report, the Deputy Speaker of the House, Prince Abayomi Akinruntan recommended the confirmation of the appointment of the nominee whom he affirmed has been properly screened.

Akinruntan said the nominee responded to all questions raised by the Committee in  a very eloquent and explicit order, noting that she has a clear understanding of the position, and possesses the required academic qualification, even as she is physically, mentally and emotionally stable and fit to accomplish the task.

The report also stated that the nominee possesses the required experience, charisma and the much needed exposure to function effectively.

The Majority leader of the House, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi moved the motion for the report to be considered and the nominee be confirmed, and was seconded by Ololade Gbegudu representing Okitipupa constituency 2

The Majority Leader who is from Owo constituency 1 spoke glowingly about Omowumi Isaac and her contributions to the growth of humanity and the society.

The Speaker, who ruled for the confirmation congratulated the Commissioner-designate, urging her to put in her best alongside other Commissioner-designates for the people to enjoy more democracy dividends.

Oladiji thanked the Governor for prioritizing the welfare of the House, promising robust relationship among tiers of government for more development..

In her response, Mrs Omowumi Isaac appreciated Governor Aiyedatiwa for nominating and believing in her to serve the people, promising not to betray the confidence reposed in her.

Omowumi Isaac, ACCA, and indigene of Owo in Owo local government area of Ondo State, promised to do everything at her disposal to function effectively, pledging not to disappoint the people of Ondo State.
