ODHA election free, fair – IPAC

The Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC)  in Ondo State has congratulated the All Progressives Congress and the Governor of the state Arakunrin  Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on the just concluded House of Assembly election.

The chairman of the council, Mr Alamuren Ogunbodede during a chat with The Hope in his office in Akure, also commended the people of the state for the way and manner they conducted themselves during and after the election.

Alamuren said “the election has been adjudged as peaceful, free and fair, now there is no molestation of electorates like we  had in the past.

He added that “the election was not about the governor alone, but about the stability of governance in the state, saying with the majority of the members of the House of Assembly from the ruling party, we believe  there won’t be any distraction for the Governor”.

“Election has come and gone, as an umbrella body of all political parties in the state, what we want is good governance. We want the government to concentrate on delivering the dividend of democracy to the people without any distraction from any quarter, the state is bigger than any individuals ambition or interest.”

The IPAC chairman however, advised the Members elect, to work harmoniously with the executive in the interest of the people of the state, adding that if they do otherwise, the masses will suffer for it.

He added that a good relationship must be established between the legislative and the executives arm of government all time for the smooth running of government.

“We are appealing to them to make sacrifice for the good of our dear state, they should see themselves as one, we don’t want the reoccurrence of what happened few months ago in the house to repeat itself,” he counseled”.
