ODHA lauds Akeredolu on establishment of Industrial Park

Ondo State House of Assembly has described the Governor of the state, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as a visionary leader with good plans to turn the state to industrial hub through his economic transformation agenda.
Members of the House Committee on Commerce and Industry led by the Speaker of the House, Mr. Bamidele Oleyelogun gave the assertion during the oversight visit of the committee to the State Industrial Park in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government area of the state.
The members of the committee commended the governor for his economic policy in partnership with foreign investors for establishing the Textile and Wood Industries in Ore for the benefit of people and the state in general.
The established wood and textile industries engaged in the production of plywoods and different kind of threads and with the plan to produce lace and ankara respectively.
Speaking with journalists, Oleyelogun said the Akeredolu-led administration through the industrial park has created more employments to eradicate idleness and underutilization of human and natural resources as well creating more incomes for the growth and development of the state.
For years now, he noted that the industrialization and creation of employments in the state had been in comatose while the youths’ unemployment escalates and Internally Generated Revenue was very low.
According to him” With what l am seeing here today, he has created more employments, deals with idleness and underutilization of human and natural resources and creation of more incomes for the growth and development of Ondo State.
The speaker explained that the economy of immediate environment has experienced positive transformation.
The Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Sola Ebiwonjumi, was optimistic that the industry will bring drastic reduction to unemployment rate of the state when it fully starts operation.
“The state will be the next industrial hub after Lagos and Ogun states in the country”, he added
He emphasized the need on the issue of workers hazard, impact assessment, community relation, sustainability of the industries and agreement on grant rent between the government and the foreign investors on how to boost the IGR of the state.
Ebiwonjumi assured that the House will revisit and work on the existing bills in connection with the establishment of industry to make them more robust for the betterment of the people in the state.
This, he said will prevent any unforseen conflict from stakeholders and maintain the smooth running of the industries in its future operations.
Corroborating other lawmakers,a member of the committee, Mr. Akinyele Fasogbon appreciated the governor for his giant stride in the economic sector of the state.
Earlier, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor on Economic Zone Development, Mr. Ayo Ipaye, explained that there is plan on ground for the production of lace and Ankara cloths at the textile industry, adding that since the full value changes are on ground there won’t be any need to buy raw materials from other states.
He said more people are need to plant cassava as machines to dry it and facilitate the cassava will be made available.
Ipaye told the members of the committee that the industries were established in the state to develop it and create job opportunities for people.
He assured them that the government has taken necessary steps with the companies in ensuring welfare of workers, impact assessment and community relations among other have been taken looked into.
Also, the Administrative Manager, Win Win Textile Industry Nigeria Limited, Mr. Adesina Ahmed, pointed out that no fewer than 300 staff are working in the industry and 1000 cartons of thread produced daily.
