No fewer than 1000 people from Owo Constituency 1 have benefitted from the food palliative programme of the lawmaker representing the area at the Ondo State House of Assembly, Oluwole Emmanuel Ogunmolasuyi.

Ogunmolasuyi who is the Majority Leader of the House and Chairman South West Majority Leaders informed that the gesture is part of his continuous efforts to bring succour and put smile on the faces of his constituents.

The programme, held at Oke Mapo Hall, Owo in Owo Local Government Area drew a significant numbers of people, including the APC local government Chairman, all Ward Chairmen, and other key stakeholders from the council area.

Addressing the gathering, the lawmaker who pointed out that he has been empowering his people with various items since inception said it was necessary to distribute palliative of cash and food stuffs to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal.

The Majority Leader assured the people that the APC government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will continue to ensure that people enjoy the dividends of democracy, and called for support at various levels.

“We are doing this to let the people know that we understand their plights and what they are going through, and to assure the people that we are with them, and in another couple of times, things will be okay in Nigeria, hence the need to work together and be hopeful for a better Nigeria”, he added.

According to him, if he has the opportunity, such palliative would be given everyday till things get better, adding that the people trusted them with votes, have confidence in them, and reaffirmed his commitment to continuous engagement and support for his constituency through various initiatives for sustainable advancement.

“Yesterday, we also reached out to people with substantial amounts of between two hundred to five hundred thousands naira each as a way of empowering them to have a better life. l have spent a year in the current 10th Assembly and l will continue to do my best for this people either directly or indirectly”, the lawmaker stressed.

He appreciated the late former Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, for his support when he was alive, and commended the current Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and his Deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami, for their supports for the people.

Ogunmolasuyi sought total support for the State Governor and his Deputy in the coming gubernatorial election, just as he urged the people to continue to maintain peace and harmony.

Dignitaries from the local government including a former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, AdeKola Olawoye, Owo APC Chairman, Balogun Samuel Olusoya, ODHA member representing Owo Constituency 2, Morenike Witherspoon, among others commended the gesture, describing it as timely.

According to them, it is a great succour as it would go a long way to cushioning the effect of high cost of items and food stuffs, and prayed for God to continue to strengthen and enable the lawmaker to do more for the people.
