Lawmakers and Members of Staff of the Ondo State House Of Assembly have held a thanksgiving service  to God for His benevolence and grace since the beginning of the year 2023 and past years.

The service which was held at the Chapel of Grace, Government House, was a response to the State Government’s directive that Ministries and Parastatals  should set aside a day to Worship God at the Government House Chapel, Akure.

The lawmakers and Members of Staff converged on  the Chapel to acknowledge God for His love and faithfulness towards their lives as well as witnessing the month of March.

The Speaker, Bamidele Oleyelogun who led the Staff to the service, recalled that in the last few years, they had faced different challenges as humans but they are still complete in number.

The Speaker who was represented by the Clerk of the House, Benjamin Jaiyeola  expressed joy for the gift of life, saying it was necessary for Civil Servants at the Assembly to come  together in faith as they journey in 2023.

Also Speaking in an interview, the Lawmaker representing Akure South Constituency 1 ,Toluwani Borokini said that being alive is enough reason to thank God.

Borokini, who is also the Whip of the House, said the act of worship was a welcome development.

“Ondo State has been relatively peaceful in our dear State.

Others said they are happy to be among the living despite  life’s  challenges.

Earlier in his homily, Evangelist Femi Ayena explained that it takes unity of purpose to achieve any developmental growth, while calling on Nigerians to be united in the desire for national rebirth

Ayena, who drew his message from the books of  Luke chapter 15, with the theme” Repent from your sins”, admonished the worshippers to flee from pride, rebellion, gossip, among others, noting that they are things that prevent organisational and societal development.

Intercessory prayers for peace, blessings and development were offered for the people
