The Ondo State House of Assembly has promised to collaborate with the Signage and Advertisement Agency to facilitate outdoors activities.
This came to fore when the House Committee on Lands, Housing, Physical Planning and Urban Development led by its Chairman, Abiola Oladapo visited the Agency in Akure.
The Committee observed that the agency is very strategic and has a key role to play in the state, urging the Management to continue to deliver on its mandate.
The lawmakers commended the Management for a job well done, charging them to do more in boosting the revenue of the State.
The Committee promised to give legislative supports where necessary to make the agency more functional while discharging its duties .
Earlier, the Chairman of the agency,Akinwande Akinrodoye while reeling out their activities and challenges, informed that they have been working hard to surpass targets.
According to him, the agency established by law of the State House of Assembly is a Revenue and Enforcement Government entity regarded as the highest in generating revenue amongst all MDAs due to its constant revenue generation drive.
He explained that in pursuant of the State Signage and Advertisement agency Law, 2021 as amended, individuals and organisations seeking to construct and develop outdoor structures (used for signage, branding and advertisement) in the State apply for Signage permit through the Agency
He stressed the need for the agency to go digital to block loopholes and drive revenue generation including having joint revenue ventures with the local governments to be on the same page.
